Description
Sculpted rocks on the seashore of Quarry Island. Tides, ice and wind sculpt the brittle rock specific to those islands (and very different from the hard granite of the Canadian Shield) . Quarry Island sports several sites with sculpted rocks. Other islands in the archipelago display similar formations. Upwelling cold waters make this area rich with marine life. Whale sightings are very common. Mingan Archipelago, Quebec (near Havre St-Pierre)
